Very first Woltman 55VR heads out to its first jobsite
Woltman´s latest addition to its product range: The Woltman 55VR.
Woltman is well known for manufacturing dedicated, compact yet powerful rigs for the foundation industry. Over the years several foundation methods require more and more bearing capacity which means the rigs which install these foundations are also getting larger and heavier. Therefore Woltman has now designed a new rig with increased performance but still compact of size.
To power the desired applications, such as: rotary heads and vibratory hammers more oil flow and engine output is required. That is exactly where the Woltman 55VR comes in. The very compact base machine now comes with an increased engine capacity of 555kW (755HP). To ensure maximum performance, oversized cooling and large hydraulic pumps are fitted as well.
The first Woltman 55VR is fitted with a PVE 23VML vibratory hammer which runs at 2300 RPM and comes with the unique Variable Moment system that allows the operate the vibro at great precision and prevents start and stop vibrations in soil and rig. This particular unit will be used for ground improvement projects (stone columns) and for the safe and efficient installation of sheet pile walls. In combination with the PVE 23VML the 55VR is capable of installing sheet piles up to 21 meter without the need of an extension. A 4 meter extension is available enabling the rig to install sheet piles up to 25 meter.
When making stone columns winch speed is important, therefore the Woltman 55VR is fitted with a single line 15 ton main winch and a single line 10 ton pull down winch. Both winches are fully synchronized to optimize performance. Winch drums are wider enabling a single layer wire which minimizes the wear and tear during the installation of stone columns.
Due to the relatively low transport weight the rig can be transported in most countries including all of its accessories. No need to take the counterweight off or to dismantle the vibratory hammer. Again saving time and additional crane or forklifts. Transport weight of the rig as shown on the picture is about 64 tons. If less transport weight is required the Vibratory hammer (with quick connection hydraulics) and counterweight can easily be disassembled resulting in a total weight of 54 ton.
